Yes very interesting, thank you. There was a thread on this a few days back. Dr Gupta talks about the anti oxidant and anti inflammatory effects of vitC, and how inflammation may initiate and perpetuate AFib. Statins have a similar effect

About thirty years ago a relative of mine who was a mental nurse was praising the value of high doses of Vit C for depression so nothing would surprise me.

It could also be something to do with the way some of us absorb or don't absorb vitamins and minerals too I suppose and what is in normal limits for some may not be for others. those of us taking mutiple medications for various illnesses as we age may find that these interfere with our capacity to get enough of some vitamins and minerals. Sometimes too much of some vitamins can also hinder the uptake of some medications so always worth checking with your GP or pharmacist when taking any extras. These should also be mentioned when you are in hospital for any procedure including some scans too as a neighbour of ours was having a particular scan and when she told the technician she took cod liver oil was told not to take it for a couple of days before the scan. so, when asked about what medication youa re taking include any vitamins, minerals and supplements you are taking too.

There is so much out there about getting too little or taking too much. Generally if we take extra and don't need it our bodies get rid of it unless it is fat absorbed in which case it stays in the body - Vit C is not fat absorbed I believe so probably safe to take extra if it does us good. Sometimes it is worth trying everything.

Thanks Desanthony, I no longer take any of the medications my doctor prescribed me. Due to the horrible side effects that I have experienced. I am constantly combing the web in hopes of finding a solution to AF. I started a ketogenic lifestyle a few months ago and there has been a big difference in frequencies and intensity. Along with a combination of natural supplements the beast seems to be taming down. I will not quit until his radical behavior is under control.💪

I take about 1000mg a day. I buy Spring Valley brand that Wal-Mart carries. I'm in the USA. It's 500mg tablets and I break them in half and take with meals along with my magnesium which is also 500mg and I break it up too. Magnesium can lower my BP so I only take about 100mg at a time. I think between the two, C and magnesium, both have helped in calming down the heart and I don't have nearly the skipped beats I used to have. Still have some as I've had benign tachycardia since going through menopause. A common occurrence in women as the hormones are askew and it can cause palpitations. Just extra info. I don't know that any one thing stops Afib. Some people have luck taking other things. You may want to search this forum for what others have done that helps them. It's kind of trial and error I think to find what helps any particular person. I finally tried taurine recently. It's an amino acid that's found in the heart and is supposed to be good to take. But it made me feel jittery just taking a very small dose. So I stopped it. I do suggest anything you try, start with a small dose and see how you feel. Then if you feel okay up it some. Just my opinion for how I do it. What I do know, is this forum has been a godsend. So much help to be found here from so many who have had Afib for years. I'm still a newbie. Diagnosed June 2020. Not having good Drs who listen or offer in depth tests, such as for nutrient deficiencies, I was praying for help and I found this forum. Just hang in there. 😊
