My heart has been threatening since i had my vaccine on tuesday morning but not gone into full blown af. I have felt unwell since the vaccine with side effects associated with the vaccine which i suspect has triggered my heart to faff about. Could be a coincidence of course but my little old heart hasnt been very calm yesterday and today. The vaccine is a must i feel so heres to us all being much safer in the long run, Hope you feel better very soon whatever the trigger.

I had a bit, plus mild'ish headache, but both passed on day 3.

I live with asymptomatic permanent AF. I am two weeks post Pfizer #1 shot. NO issues.

Hi, I had mine on Saturday too. Had a slight fever on Sunday, headache etc and very tired. My heart and blood pressure have both been very erratic all week. I spoke to my GP yesterday and she seemed to think it not unusual... I hope it settles soon!

Which vaccine did you have?

I had mine on Sunday and touch wood no side effects. Not even a sore arm which I would normally get with the flu jab. X

Are you the undercover version of Jesse Banks? (Aka Ashley Zukerman)

Please expand on what type of arrhythmia and what your history of arrhythmia is.

I had my jab one week ago and not so much a blip.

Sounds like 'maybe just a coincidence' that you go into AF quite often. Could you expand a bit with your recent AF history?

Yep I have had both Pfizer jabs and on each occasion had ectopics day after ending in full blown AF episodes a couple of days later.😦

Could you tell me if you have to wait for 15 mins after the 2nd injection like you do for the 1st one? Don’t know anyone who’s had the 2nd one, to ask.

reinaway profile image
reinaway in reply to Sixtychick

Yes you do.

Sixtychick profile image
Sixtychick in reply to reinaway

I’d have thought you would not have to wait if you were ok the 1st time. I was hoping it would be better next time . Everyone else I know had the Oxford one, wish I’d had that one, they were all in and out in a few mins. There was a queue when I went for mine and I was there a lot longer than I anticipated. At least 1/2 hour

Was the vaccine tested on people with AF .

Auriculaire profile image
Auriculaire in reply to Ger12345

People on anticoagulation were excluded from one of the trials so that would exclude some afibbers.

reinaway profile image
reinaway in reply to Auriculaire

I'm not sure but there is no doubt it affected my AF as it happened after both jabs

I am sorry to say I'm the same.Could be other reasons though. We do seem to be in the minority. Not as bad 10 days in but not gone.hope you feel better soon.

I had my Pfizer jab and under a week later had 3 episodes one after the other, one which lasted 13 hrs which is not usual for me to go on that long. Usually 7hrs Max. I sat it out rather than go to a & e. Took meds when due & a bisopropol as pip. Now 4 days clear in NSR. Never know if it was coincidence.

I wonder which vaccine you had? I had the Pfizer one over two weeks ago, and had zero repercussions. My wife had the Astra Zeneca one last week and had side effects for three days (she doesn't suffer from AF).

I do wonder if anxiety about the new vaccine is more the cause of problems than actual side effects. Anxiety is a prime cause of AF, in my opinion. It can always trigger mine.

I haven't had my Covid jab yet, but each year the flu jab puts my heart into AF from normally having well controlled PAF. In Nov I was in AF mainly for 10 days. Extra Flecainide helped. Not looking forward to the Covid jab, but having it next week.

Nothing at all except sore arm, which went away quickly.

Hello Jesse

I had my vaccine on Saturday (Astra.zeneca) and my heart is worse this week, but I am putting it down to the really cold weather, as I am even worse if I spend a small amount outside and get the slightest bit cold. Doesn’t worry me particularly as I am assuming it will pass as the temperature improves.

I forgot to say that I am in permanent a fib, but it is surprising how this can vary from day to day.

I had a covid vaccine (AZ) on Wednesday and yesterday I experienced "arrythmia problems" for the whole day. Until then, I had not had an AF episode for 4 years, not one I had been aware of anyway. Unfortunately, my Kardia is not working so I cannot check if it is AF or another form of arrhythmia.

I suffer from arrhythmias, I had my Pfizer vaccine on Wednesday and everything is fine

It’s really difficult to say, I’ve had nothing more than a sore arm from Pfitzer jab Tues.

I had the Astra Zeneca jab yesterday afternoon and today feel tired and heady. Couldn't eat my breakfast! Waiting for a parcel delivery and then I'll be back in bed. I never ever have headaches. Pfizer one doesn't appear to cause any side effects.

jerseygirl49 profile image
jerseygirl49 in reply to jeanjeannie50

jeanjeannie50 - I had the AZ jab last Tuesday and like you suffered headaches for 3 days and just a general feeling of unwell. Back to normal now apart from some dizziness when turning in bed in the morning which my husband mentioned this morning - he had too.. I had not said anything about these as I thought he would say I was imagining them but he said he has experienced these now for a couple of days. We are quite ok once up and about - just a slight balance issue we think but strange we both have them so we're putting them down to the vaccine.

jeanjeannie50 profile image
jeanjeannie50 in reply to jerseygirl49

I'll be reporting it on the Yellow Card website. As so many people don't do that I think the powers that be have no idea how the AZ vaccine is having an effect on people.

GrannyE profile image

You are quite right. If people do not report side effects how will anyone know what they are and how widespread?

Had Pfizer jab over 4 weeks ago . No probs but went into fast AF 6 days later which required DCCV. Am assuming coincidence as I was due an episode 🙄😁 However if this happens after my second jab then maybe I would think differently!

Hi, I had my af six days after the vaccine but doctor says just a coincidence. I’d been af free for about four months. Still in af now.

Yes I had my vaccine 3 Saturdays ago and on the Monday I started with arrhythmia at a very high rate plus very high heart rate. It took a lot of pills and calls to the hospital, but it has calmed down now. I'm not sure if it was due to the vaccine jab as I have been having problems with my afib/tachycardia coming and going since last September. Hope you are feeling better by now.

I had Covid in early December which really ramped up my a-fib events. Having the vaccine Feb. 4th, I've had another one. Maybe the vaccine indeed has something to do with it.

Received Pfizer vaccine two days ago. Sore injection site and some muscle pains and some fatigue. Heart seems ok. About the same as flu shot.
