Cryoablation for my Afib

Just wanted to say thanks for all the posts. I am 42 would say healthy. Started having Afib in Dec of 2020. Had 2 cardioversions in Dec and Jan which only kept me in rhythm for like 3 days each. Just had the Cryoablation this past Monday. Used general anesthesia and seemed like a non event. Recovery the next 2-3 days was tougher than I expected. Felt like I fell off a roof. What concerned me until finding this site was my bruising. Was shocked how much bruising I got in my arm and groin. It's ugly. I got a cough from laying in the bed after the procedure for the night. Ended up popping a blood vessel in my right eye from it. Not sure blood thinners are helping that. Anyway I'm more mobile now and feel better. The bruising was the most shocking part of all of this. Hopefully I'll get off the meds in about 3 months. Glad I found this site so I can quit calling the dr w every concern. Lol. For those nervous about the procedure....don't sweat it.

After my third ablation I had no bruising whatsoever, made me wonder what they did, if anything. So strange as after my first two I certainly had bruising. Not down to my knee like FJ, though I did have a haematoma lump in my groin after my first ablation and thought an instrument had been left behind.

Hope you make a speedy recovery, be aware that you may have good days and tired days for a while.

Jean
