I’m on sotalol and edoxaban. Dr wants me to take citalopram, for anxiety5, but both have a red box severe reaction warning on the uk NICE drug reaction I did tell receptionist at practise, to inform Dr. Sotalol and citalapram increase the Qt interval especially in increasing age and female sex and edoxaban and sotalol increases the risk of bleeding events. Have any of you taken these and did you have any problems. Thanks.
Do you take these drugs.?: I’m on... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Do you take these drugs.?
I would request a call with the Doctor to discuss your concerns. It may well be OK to take that combination for your needs but there's no harm in confirming.
Doctor rang me later and said she wouldn’t prescribe them now and suggested the lowest dose of diazepam to take if I need one.
I am taking sertraline on low dose which was the only antidepressant that my EP would sanction as I am taking dronedarone after a cardio version. He checked my QT first.I also take a low dose diazepam 2mg.
I have now been given 2 mgs diazepam when I need it, or once or twice a day just 14 tablets. , It is supposed to be addictive, so can only be a short term drug , How long have you taken it for?
Been prescribed it for a year or two but not taken it very often in the past only when AF was particularly bothersome at night but taken it every day this past year due to my severe depression and anxiety. Try to only take 2mg a day if I have to. I’m not sure it really does much though, it’s a very small dose.
Both drugs can delay QT but have no interactions. I would not take them together. There are no antidepressants allowed by the NHS that do not lengthen QT. Most anti anxiety drugs do not.
For me personally, Sertraline (antidepressant) taken with Flecainide is a big no no.
I do, however take Lorazopan (anti anxiety) with Flecainide.
