A couple of months ago having posted about 2 AF episodes and being subscribed Edoxaban and Sotalol, I asked what anyone thought of my plan to walk 120 miles in the Alps. I had various responses from "don't do it" to "go for it". I did the latter and have just finished walking the Tours des Ecrins National Park 120 miles with ascents/descents of 40,000 feet. Drinking several beers, two glasses of wine and a few cigarettes each day so thank you to whoever said "go for it". I won't do it again as I am getting too old for climbing 4,000 feet one day and descending 6,000feet the next but I have lived and aim to continue wirhout letting AF get in the way.

Don't let AF get in the way of a Normal Life
Well, first, sounds like a great trip/adventure. Congratulations!
I didn't remember your first post, but just re-read it. So your afib is fairly new, just a few episodes that self terminated fairly quickly.
We would call that a very low afib burden.
When my afib burden was low, I'd do stuff like that. But with more beer and a lot more cigarettes until I had the sense to stop close to 40 years ago
But I do chuckle a bit with your headline, "Don't let AF get in the way of a Normal Life". That's because I've had more than a normal life -- some may call it a crazy one -- when my afib burden was low.
But things changed for me as it has with others. And there have been points where I struggled with a flight of stairs, never mind the Alps.
So it's really not "Don't let Afib get in the way of your life", but more live the best life you can with the afib you got. For you that's the Alps. For me today, it was fifteen minutes on the treadmill at a moderate pace with four degrees elevation I ate. Watched a recorded Formula 1 race. Did a few emails. Then I took a nap. And that was a more active day than yesterday

Good on you managing all that. It was impressive.
"and a few cigarettes each day"
I remember my cigarettes - COPD/AF/Angina and Valve disease,
I have not smoked for 25 years, had I not stopped ??
Well done! I firmly believe that life is for living and we should live the best life possible, whilst we can, because 'things' can change overnight and believe me they do, so while you can, go for it!!!!!
Well done you. An inspiration 👏
congratulations! You saw, you went, you conquered. No need to do it again, set a new and exciting goal. Don’t let your Dr. Know about the beers, wine & cigarettes. You might get a scolding! 🤣🤣
loved that post ! Very well done you 😄
Brilliant. Well done Since I was diagnosed with Paroxysmal AF in September 2019 I have become fitter. I haven't done as much as you!
