Interesting, irene and somewhat scary. Unfortunately, there are so many people who feel it just won't happen to them - too many of them in government positions. Thank you for posting - it should be prescribed viewing!

Finvola, it really wasn't my intention to scare you! I don't get into any of those situations anyway, I haven't even been on public transport since March. It just made it clear why infections went through the roof everywhere after relaxing rules. We all just need to carry on being ultra-careful until we get that vaccination. Stay safe!

Agree totally - I haven't been out except for essential medical appointments either. Keep safe.

Same here, essential medical appointments only, which have been surprisingly few ... zero in fact! It’s the last mile home, fingers crossed 🤞 x

Hope so!

My first thoughts were similar to Finvola’s — lets hope this video is watched by the naysayers - but unfortunately doubt very much it will be and those who might stumble across it would label it fake news or put their self interests ahead of people’s health. Am I being too cynical? Maybe.

CDreamer, see my reply to Finvola. Yes, many people even if they saw it would ignore it. I don't think you are cynical in the least, I will just carry on shielding until this is all over, I know you do too.

As Fraser in Dads Army would, say " We're all doomed". Come on smile.

With or without COVID-19. That's true!

Hiya Irene,

Thanks for that - brilliant! What a pity that the Government and/or Health Authorities in this country can't produce a shortened version and make it compulsory broadcasting on all TV Channels - call it a CoVid segment. But then there are true believers, sceptical believers and non believers ............. 😊😊

I must say, I do think in these dimensions, like a lot of key workers - I have to. I have driven buses throughout both lockdowns. My employer has done as much as reasonably possible to protect staff, provided face masks, face visors, on older buses provided thick plastic shower screens hung over the drivers door by the ticket machine and ultimately when possible phasing these out and replacing them with perspex screens mounted in solid frames and secured to the drivers door. These are automatically fitted to brand new buses anyway.

But the thing is one can't help bad luck ...... because no matter how hard one tries there is always a person who gets on the bus wearing a face mask and mumbles ........... do you go to such and such a place (resulting in the driver sticking his/her head around the screen to hear more accurately what the hell they are mumbling about) or they get on not wearing a face mask and ask you for a ticket to Covid or wherever and the driver punches it out watching to see if the person produces a mask - usually they do and put it on as they walk down the bus to their seat. Not strictly in line with the Governments CoVid Code ....... but not in breach of it either. Maybe a passengers way of protesting at having to do as he/she is told and putting the frighteners on other passengers as they walk to their seat putting on their face mask as they do so.

So, so far so good and compared to other parts of the UK, where I am down at the pointy end of Cornwall we aren't doing too bad .......... but then it doesn't take much to run out of good luck.

What a pity trains and buses can't be fitted with after sales/after market video screens and have such a brilliant documentary played repeatedly on the video.

Thanks again

John

Thank you. Easy to read and clear, hope it is accurate as sent it to my family.

This was trending on twitter some time ago, following a Downing Street briefing full of incomprehensible graphs and safety instructions. That was followed by ‘eat out to help out’. Nuff said....

Thanks for sharing this article. It should be seen by everyone

Thanks. I was aware of a lot of this in general but the numbers quoted as infection rates in scenarios are a surprise even to me. Very good article.

My granddaughter has been isolating for two weeks because her teacher tested positive but only the four children in the front row had to isolate which according to this article was not adequate. Excellent, I wish it would convince my husband to stay away from shops!

So sorry, I omitted to say I do hope your granddaughter is clear.

So kind, thank you, the whole family had the virus early on - we think children returning from an Italian skiing trip brought it back. But as immunity may not last she could have had it again, fortunately not, just a bad case of boredom 🙄

Mine too, but he is so forthright, no dirty looks from him when someone gets too close, he immediately tells them to keep back. I think when he goes shopping now people think here's that grumpy old man and part like the Red Sea to let him through unhindered!
