Can zoloft (sertraline) increase the number of ectopics?

I just started taking a low dose a week ago, I was okay until last night when I noticed an increase in my ectopics that lasted throughout the day today. Were you experiencing an increase in AFIB or ectopics right after starting this medication?

I'm not a medical professional but I'm surprised Zoloft was prescribed if you are taking any medicines for the AFIB. Most antidepressants interact with antiarrhythmic medicines. My pharmacy wouldn't fill my prescription for Lexapro with Flecainide. I would check with the pharmacy.

Thank you for your reply I am not taking any antiarrithmic medication, just bisoprolol. I should mention that I don't have Afib, but many ectopics daily. I had them for almost a year now and because of them I became depressed and anxious.

How are you? Have your ectopics been better before taking setraline? I was on setraline for 9 months did nothing for me

Hi and nice to talk to you again! I just started sertraline 9 days ago so for now I can only feel the side effects. Did you experience an increase in ectopics on sertraline, or they were just about the same?

Back than I did not have ectopics when I was taking straline I was taking this medication due to my severe anxiety did not make much difference at all

Hi Alex thanks.. I read your posts about your AF journey. Hopefully your 2nd ablation will resolve your current problems. Can you tell me how long were you on sertraline and if it affected your heart right away or later?

Thank you very much. Straight away, caused ectopic’s and a five minute run of af, I found it more trouble than it was worth, I don’t think through my rubbish research that mertazapine interacts with arrhythmia’s.
