I'm told I have PAF (I am totally asymptomatic, thankfully). I have an ICD. Would using a Kardia be safe? TIA.

Kardia and ICD?
Knowing the technology I can't see a problem unless the ICD went off when you were using the Kardia which might upset it but really why if you are asymptomatic do you need a Kardia? I suggest that you discuss with your doctor.
I was thinking of buying one but it does say on their website not to use with a pacemaker so that counts me out.
I have pacemaker and works mostly fine. What happens is that sometimes the ECG can pick up signals which make your heart look as though it is in crazy land but once you learn that is all it is - fine - as HappyJo explained in her post - I think that’s why it’s not recommended.
Alivecor say not to use with pacemaker because it's not been tested and they can't guarantee accuracy of the readings, presumably your experience confirms that we could get false info. More research needed before I splash out !
Thankyou HappyJo and all. Actually, mine is a Pacemaker/Defibrillator (ICD), so I think a Kardia must be a non-starter. Was just curious, as it would be good to be able to keep track, asymptomatic or otherwise.
It would be interesting to have Hidden 's thoughts on the use of Kardia with pacemakers and ICDs
Hi O11 😊 the Kardia is very sensitive to other equipment so I guess you wouldn't get a reading due to 'electrical interference' from your ICD.
I use my Kardia with an iPad and it won't work if the iPad is plugged in to charge it registers interference.
I have a one lead Kardia but I had a CRT pacemaker implanted a year ago and Alivecor told me the Kardia doesn’t work with pacemakers.
Thank you!
