A less complicated update than before, the first ablation has not solved my afib however it has altered it making it less exhausting and the chaos of my rhythm a bit more organised.
After 3 months I now spend 40-50% of the time in afib so my dawning optimism of last update has settled down to I need another go.
As this is a private med matter I think it will go ahead in the next month or two and I will keep the group updated

It's good to hear that you're feeling better, but I think I'd want to leave it at least 6 months before trying another ablation. Many people on this forum have said it took up to a year before they reaped the full benefits.
I expect Steve will have advice from his consultant about how long a gap to leave, I believe there are two schools of thought about when to do a second ablation.
Hi yes my consultant told me right after my first ablation that there were quite a lot of sites he needed to address with the real possibility some might have been missed. This coupled with some improved mapping catheters ( better at finding the sneaky half hidden beat initiating sites) that are soon to be deployed will hopefully give the desired result.
I am thinking of this a two stage single journey now rather than a second new procedure
When I had my first ablation, which was extensive because I was six months persistent, My right pulmonary vein could not be fully ablated due to swelling. Sure enough I had to have a second ablation to address this right pulmonary. It also reconnected after the second ablation, so I had to have a third.
In my case, the labelling would be a three stage single journey.
