So I’m booked in 22 October for my ankle surgery. My orthopedic surgeon will liaise with my EP about anticoagulation and anything else he needs to know. I’ve filled out the online forms for the hospital and anesthetist.
I was interested to see in my anesthetist’s bio that as well as her experience in orthopedics and general surgery she has worked in many catheter labs managing patients through heart procedures. That’s reassuring 😁.
I’ll be in a cast and totally non weight bearing for 6 weeks, then a moon boot with limited weight bearing for 4 weeks (that takes me to New Year’s Eve), then an ankle brace and physio/rehab begins. It’s a long road to recovery. I hope my heart behaves itself. ❤️🤞🏻🤞🏻
This will be my 16th hospital admission in 4 1/2 years. I do hope it’s my last 🤪🤪

Good luck and maybe time to buy an electric wheel chair? A mate of mine has one which is awesome and does wheelies! He let me ride it at a race meeting last year and it terrified me! Steering by tricycle wheel behind is weired to say the least.
Me and an electric wheelchair - that sounds like fun 😉. I will have to hire a wheelchair but will stick to the manual version and keep my husband away from it 😂
Thanks Jean. I’m not sure what lessons the universe is trying to teach me but I’ve had enough already 🤪. I think I have proven my resilience and patience 😉 xx
Kaz that all sounds daunting to say the least, as you say what's the universe trying to convey. You will have to swap cooking and take up tapestry 😉 It looks like you will be in very good hands though tg. Best of luck with everything 🥰💐💐
Thank you. Yes, I have a good medical team. It’s frustrating though. We went to a dinner and show last night with friends and I really wanted to get up and have a jive but I couldn’t. We did manage one slow rhythm though. My hubby and I met at a ballroom dancing studio but between my ankles and heart we haven’t been able to dance much over the last few years. I’m determined to get back dancing one day 🕺🏼💃🏼
