Pre admission tests

Some of you may remember that I’ve been stressing about getting my Covid test pre admission for my third ablation on Tuesday. I had my pre op assessment by phone and on Wednesday phoned for my COVID test for Friday. I was told I could only book on the day of the test and result would only be by text. I went into a real panic as we haven’t got a car and needed to know a time to arrange for our son to take me and I haven’t got a mobile. I phoned the pre assessment nurse and she calmed me down and said she would arrange transport and to come yesterday to Barts. Everything went so smoothly and to be honest seeing the hospital under the present conditions has really helped put my mind at rest for my ablation. Just wanted to let those of you who may be in a similar situation that hospital transport is not subject to eligibility criteria at the moment and anybody can get it, that’s inside the M25 anyway.

I had an ablation done at Barts two weeks ago, everything was amazing and so far feeling so much better. I was aware when they zapped the rogue area, pulse went from 120bpm to 60!I had to stay in overnight as I was treated in the afternoon but as I live in North Essex I was glad that I wasn’t going straight home.

Good luck, they’re a great team.

Thank you glad it went well for you. Mines going to be under general anaesthetic as they are expecting it to be a long one so I’m also hoping to stay overnight.

Thanks for the good wishes
