getting ready to start eliquis- did anyone have an adverse reaction when they started the drug?
hesitant to start yet another drug: e... - Atrial Fibrillati...
hesitant to start yet another drug: eliquis
I was also concerned about starting Eliquis, however I have had no symptom at all. If this med does not work for you, try another.
I was reluctant to take it but it has given me no trouble. In fact now my AFib has stopped I am reluctant to give it up. In the two years I took it, that's before my ablation, I had no attacks of migraine.
No problems at all. Been on it for 5 years or more. If there were as slattery has said there are others you can try. Rather that than risk a stroke.
Hope it goes well for you.

Like a lot of readers I'm a reluctant pill taker. But having been warned of consequences when i decided to stop taking Apixaban. I take it. No known side effects apart from bruising a little easier. Best wishes.
Hello animalsdeservelov 😊 I hate taking any medication unless it is absolutely necessary and was appalled when told I would need to take Eliquis for the rest of my life.
Having learned about the large number of AF related strokes I am now grateful I do take it .
I have been taking it for 3 years with no problems, I bruise more easily , bleeding cuts don't seem to be a problem and stop when pressure is applied.
I react badly to lots of meds, even paracetamol ! but I can honestly say Eliquis has caused absolutely no side effects at all, nothing 😊
No. Do not think of it as ‘yet another drug’ - it is probably more important than others you may be taking.
I really fought taking a blood thinner, but my cardio doctor assured me Eliquis was the least problematic, so have been taking it for a little over a year with absolutely no problems, no bleeding issues either. (Love your screen name!!)
Nada, zero, zilch side effects on eliquis.
Just the $$$$. All that moola just to stop a little clot from forming in a pinky tip sized heart indent. The only thing I've noticed is it, at first, taking a little longer to coagulate when I cut myself. I don't really notice now.
I have to speak to cardio since I have not had any A fib since my cryo-abl. last Sept. New studies say I may not need it. That Medicare Pharm. insurance donuthole makes it quite costly!
No problems for me at all with Eliquis. So much easier than using Warfarin.I am on it for life due to 2 unprovoked DVT
I have been on Eliquis for two years with no issues.
Me too. No problems except longer bleeding if I get a cut. But it's no worse for that than Voltarol.
I,have been on it several months, no problems as of this date. I sure didn’t want to take it. Only problem is the cost. Expensive for Medicare patients. Others insurance, they have a plan to help. It puts you in the donut hole real fast especially if you are using any other name brand medication. Cheaper than a stroke though!!!
