Always best to discuss with your dentist but unfortunately, there are still some who are not sure. The following is an extract from NICE guidance. Just read and click on the link at the end.
NICE advice on the Management of Anticoagulants
To find out everything you will ever need to know about YOUR anticoagulant, just click on the scenario relating to whichever anticoagulant you are taking. Scroll all the way down for information on dental work and precautions for operations and other medical procedures.

For what it’s worth, when I had a wisdom tooth removed, I missed one dose before the appointment and took the next one at my normal time after the appointment.
Can't advise on that but would suggest you ask the dentist for a non-adrenaline anaesthetic just in case the normal causes an AF episode.
My husband had three teeth extracted last Thursday. He was advised by his consultant to stop taking the apixaban the day before then take one on the Thursday evening. His dentist said that the consultants don’t always agree so it’s always best to ask your own.
I had 3 out last year plus a cyst removed and a bone graft, I didn't come off apixaban and didn't have any problems

Thank you for all your replies and advice.
I had a tooth removed without coming off apixaban and was fine. On my own initiative I adjusted the time I took the meds so I was taking the apixaban after the extraction.
Your Dr. and Dentist are the ones to give you the correct answer. Good luck.
I was advised not to stop it at all and have had extractions and flap surgery without difficulty.
I have had a dental extraction without stopping Apixiban. No issues. While taking Apixiban or the other NOACs one should avoid ibuprofen and aspirin because the combination elevates the risk of bleeding..
