Hi all, I had ablation no 3 on Wednesday EP very happy how it went. A problem with bleeding from the incision sites(3) which they sorted tg, pressure applied every 20 mins for few hours not pleasant but it worked. My question is I'm having some vision disturbance ie lights in peripheral vision, not too bad but this am I had what I can only describe as wavy vision, like mirage from road on hot day. What is your thoughts? It lasted about 20 mins I'm ok now. Thanks.Csrole

This is quite normal to experience after an ablation. It sounds like you haven't read the fact sheet on here re what to expect afterwards. Will see if I can find it for you.

Look towards the top right of this page and you will see Useful Links for Newbies and Oldies. Go into that and find the link for what to expect after an ablation.
Nope I've got you a direct link - I hope
I had the same problem after an ablation a couple of years ago. Here’s the post I wrote with some pictures I’d found on line which gave a good indication of what my vision was like.

Thanks a mill Kaz, freaky experience, flashing lights is one thing but everything wavy yuk. Hope you are keeping well and cooking up a storm😉 the emotions don't help either. But it's understandable I've had 2 cardioversions since start of May so 3 g/a in all, not conducive to feeling chirpy. 🥰💐
It is freaky. I thought maybe it was like being on psychedelic drugs 🤩. I’m very well, apart from an ankle problem which is preventing me from going on my walks which is frustrating. And yes, still cooking. I cooked and ate too much during our lockdown so now need to shift a couple of kilos.
Perfectly normal as we explain in our fact sheet heartrhythmalliance.org/res....
“Wavy lines” are possibly be an indication of a vitreous detachment-this (unlike a retinal detachment) isn’t serious and is a normal part of the ageing process. Probably worth getting an optician to check things.
Hi
I have never had an ablation but have for years ( since developing AF) had occasional episodes of Ocular Migraines ( shimmering etc - no headache). While some websites distinguish between Ocular and Retinal Migraines, the NHS site equates them. Take a look also at online images that try to reproduce the effects.
Good luck
Thanks everyone I'm good today tg🥰
