Hi, It might be Restless Leg Syndrome, mine was discovered when I had my overnight Sleep Apnea study ( as suggested by someone on this site ) , worth checking out. I did have severe Sleep Apnea and since being on CPAP ( sleeping machine ) mine leg issues have gone. Also my Cardiologist was convinced my Apnea was causing my AF. Worth checking out Sleep Apnea if you haven't already done so. I have a normal BMI so my Apnea was over looked for years. Good luck.
I have permanent AFib and have acquired Restless Leg Syndrome in recent years. I find that Magnesium Oil helps. Both of my sons have RLS but no AF so I suspect the AF is probably unconnected - but few things are!!
Pretty sure this twitching will be aggravated by the statins. I have restless legs at times and not severe. However, when I was put on statins, I suffered badly with twitching and cramps in my legs. I stopped taking statins and got back to normal. Hope you can sort this out.
