Good news stories - just the tonic

There is no doubt that this forum is excellent, good place to provide support to each other, share experiences and get better informed - I make a point of having a look each day.

I particularly like the ‘good news’ posts, where people have had a good result, improved health, AF now under control etc. It would be good to have a permanent post that is pinned to the start where we can share good news posts.

I’ll start I have only been diagnosed with AF in December, I now have a date for my cardio version in March and the sleep clinic a couple of days after that. Well done NHS and QE Hospital Birmingham. Also big thanks to all those forum members that have responded so helpfully to my posts, without your support I do t no where I would be.

I agree. This forum is excellent. I have learnt so much from here, which is so reassuring when you feel scared & so alone. Things that the medics don’t tell you. You get to share experiences with people who know exactly what you are going through. The good news stories do lift your spirits & hope.

Best wishes Ally

I think we owe a big vote of thanks to the high quality regular posters who raise the game of the rest of us when occasionally commenting.

Yes it’s great to hear all the positives, makes all the “ starting affibers” feel there is indeed a normal life to be had after the early shocking days of disbelief and fear....

We all go thru that initial phase and feel alone.....then whooooppeee we find this forum!!

For me the good news is that there is so much support to be had on this forum. Although not a prolific A fibber I also have lots of heart bumps, blips and wobbles which are disconcerting. However through help from many lovely folk on here, I feel I have much more control of situations and much more knowledge after nineteen years of AF. Thanks everyone. Best wishes to all, Kath.

This forum is excellent. It really helps to reassure and show you that people whose af burden might be much greater than yours are overcoming it and leading (if not quite normal ) fulfilling lives. Inspirational.

Yep, great forum, there's stuff on here that my docs and cardio haven't a clue about, plus 'we're 're all in it together' (great post punk track by the Pirates incidentally) and no end of support, goes bless us all.!
