Had my 3rd Ablation 1 year ago today by Prof Andre' N G at Glenfield top man for Ablations.
Had 3 Ablations 3 Cardiovertions over 3 years, 1st Ablation back in A F next day, 2nd Ablation back in A F 6 weeks later, 3 rd Ablation back in NSR since,
Still get ectopic beats but dont notice them like i used to. there a lot softer.
Still working at 63 full time gardening, digging out fence post, hedge cutting, hard work but Heart ticking over nicely at moment.
Not celebrating just pleased i am still in NSR.
I had a lot of burning done over the 3 Ablations, as iv'e had A F for many years.

Hi Higgy good to hear you are doing so well ,long may it continue. I am a big fan of gardening, I think it is very good exercise and miss it in the winter...
How reassuring! My hubby is also under Prof Ng’s care - had cryoablation Nov 2018; awaiting another ablation, but this time it’ll be burning. So hoping that this one works for longer!
I had my 2nd last week - 2 ablations + 3 cardioversions in 4 months. Cardiologist not keen to do a 3rd so hope being in nsr continues. Strange to have a heart rate of 60+ when I've had 120-180 hr when in permanent af. Expect you are very pleased to be better & able to do the job you do.
Good to hear the 3rd one worked, did they actually wait three months after each of the first two before doing another? The problems you mention were quite early in the blanking periods...did you have permanent Afib that came back and never stopped?
How long did it take you to come back to a normal energy level after your oblations?
A long recuperation time is what's been scaring me off of setting an appointment for mine. I work out at a gym 5 days a week and would go crazy if I couldn't exercise for a prolonged period of time.
I hope you don't mind me jumping in on this one. You need to take easy after an ablation. The recommended time to recover is a week or two. To play on the safe side allow two weeks to just relax and chill out.
After that (with your doctors agreement of course) there's nothing stopping you from returning to the gym. Build up your exercise routine slowly again and I should think you'll be good to go within a month or so.
I don't think you won't be able to exercise for a prolonged period - don't let it put you off if the docs think an ablation is right for you. It's your decision but I think you would be able to visit the gym again fairly soon again afterwards. Just take things easy at first and you'll soon be back to normal IMO.
You and I have shared ablation journeys, although my third ablation was halted when my flutter turned out to be left side and needed more lab time than was available. I was cardioverted and have been AF free since.
I'm considering a third ablation, under GA, as I would love to be off Flec and bisoprolol. Just weighing the pros and cons which would be more stark if I'd had an episode. I find the meds draining even though I'm on a very low dose.
