3 years NSR today, post ablation Jan ‘21.

after 3 years constant, persistent AF then flutter.

1x external cardioversion (failed after 3 days)

1x cryoablation under sedation (failed as procedure cut short due to a short period of asystole!)

1x RF ablation under GA. (Lasted a week in nsr)

1x internal cardio version (catheter procedure) failed after a day

1x flutter ablation, Jan 15th 2021. Success !

If at first you dont succeed ……..

That's very encouraging. After a very unstable 6 month blanking period following my first ablation, I've now been in NSR for 12 months. Should this change I would certainly opt for another ablation rather than the dreaded beta blockers. Long may your NSR continue.

Wow, this is an encouraging post. I am now 8 months in NSR after 20 years of AF. 10 years of which were constant.I had 3 ablations last year after cardioversions only lasted a day or 2.

1st one classed as fail as couldn't isolate vein.

2nd one I only had nsr for 2 days.

3rd one the same.

Then, 5 months after that 3rd one as I was coming off meds to switch to heart failure medication, I achieved NSR.

So, I also had a "persistence pays off" experience.

I'm so grateful for the cardiologist and EP for persisting with me.

Here's hoping we both stay in a nice even rhythm! 🙂

A good news story! Thanks for posting. Most, I suspect, are like you but forums like this are likely to hear more from people who suffer than from those who don't.
