I have had 2 ablations and when I go to be (sleep on my side) I hear crackle type noises from my throat and chest area. I have seen ENT, Pulmonlogist and had numerous scans-all negative. The crackling gets louder as the night goes on so when I wake up in the middle of the night it makes getting back to sleep more difficult. I am wondering if the ablations contributed to this?

Crackle type noise
Not likely to be honest unless something was damaged by any TOE which may have been used. Since your say ENT can't find nothing wrong that is probabaly a non starter.
Are you taking amiodarone or dronedarone?
Multaq described to me as amiodarone light
Multaq is dronedarone. If this is accompanied by a light non-productive cough you may have early onset pulmonary toxicity also known as cryptogenic organising pneumonia. If you do, clinicians will wrongly say that you have community acquired pneumonia and prescribe antibiotics that won't work. The cracking sounds known as Velcro crackling will be in a different position than the sounds heard from pneumonia and, if an x-ray shows a mass in the lungs it will be in a different position to that with pneumonia. Your blood oxygen will drop. The treatment will require prednisolone. This is a rare condition and most clinicians will not be aware of it.
I know as in 2014 I came close to death from dronedarone (Multaq) and the hospital also gave me amiodarone for good measure. The consultants submitted a paper to the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh on my case that became Case of the Quarter. If you need more information please ask. I can give you contacts for the team that worked on me.
John
I have not had ablation. I take 3.75 bisoprolol and 7.5 methotrexate. I also get the crackles in my throat on occasions. Dr. said no problem with my lungs when listened with stethoscope!
