Hi. My husband is scheduled for a cardioversion in 3 weeks time. We have been using a kardia since xmas and has shown only 3 episodes of af since then. He doesn't have any symptoms during one. He takes digoxin and rivaoxaban. If he is in NSR mist of the time will they still do cardioversion or is it even worth trying it?

It’s my understanding that CV’s are only carried out on people who are in AF. If I were you, I would contact the hospital just to make sure.....
Hi thanks. I thought so. We are due at hospital on monday for pre checks with cardiac nurse. Will still go but take the kardia readings with us! Still trying to find what triggers it with him but cant find a common denominator yet!
AF is AF is AF. No common denominator needed. You have it, you get it. DCCV is only used to return a person to normal sinus rhythm so unless he is in AF there is nothing to do.
Hi Bob. Thanks very much. Hes cut out all alcohol ( not that he drank much before 2 bottles a week on different days) gone to decaffinated tea (but not coffee that was a no 😁). The only thing seems to be maybe a trigger is on 2 mondays he has visited a friend and walked. Very steep long hill. Came back in a fib. But also walked up there other times with no issue. Like you say maybe just coincidence. I may even let him have a beer! Maybe. Have a nice evening
