New Dietary Approach

Came across a really interesting piece on controlling Afib by dietary intervention last night:

"Afib Elimination Via Calcium and Vitamin D Control"

"For nearly seven years I have been free of afib (previously a very heavy sufferer of Lone AF), and free of ectopic beats except for minor occurrences when experimenting, without having used either ablation or medications.

I really believe that it is absolutely clear that calcium metabolism (as largely mediated by vitamin D) is completely at the heart of the otherwise unexplained "Lone" afib, and hope that this info can help others, although people of course need to be serious and careful in their efforts, and there are many cases of afib where experimenting is probably not so wise."

7 years Afib free!? Sounds pretty convincing to me - what does everyone else think?

Wow, someone telling us exactly how they've changed their diet and become AF free for many years. Interesting re the Vitamin D, because I've always found that I'm AF free during the summer months. I do supplement in the winter, but not enough it seems.

Very interesting! My vit d levels are always low when my blood is tested (yearly)! Also I had noticed that my ectopic’s and general heart irritability would increase when I take a prescription calcium supplement!!

I don’t eat meat and probably have a low protein diet 🙄

Food (pardon the pun) for thought ! Thank you ☘️

I had a shortish period of extra systole beats years ago, when I was taking a very high dose of calcium. I read somewhere that calcium might be involved and stopped the supplement - and the extra systoles went away.

Very interesting, thanks for posting Barny. I am looking at my calcium level, which I think is blocking a much needed increase in magnesium. I have Lone AF and for some years loved dairy and get it from a Biodynamic organic farm raw and probably super high in calcium. I look forward to reading the article and discussing it with my Naturopath next week.
