Travel sickness pills

I know no one can give medical advice but just wanted to hear from people who have taken travel sickness pills with an arrhythmia and on beta blockers. My doctor said should be ok but then pharmacy refused to sell and said you cant take them with a arrhythmia. I get awful travel sickness and would like to know other people's experience with them.

Explain travel sickness: are you taking a plane, driving a car, going by boat??

Get it on coach, train, plane, boat and any car journey over 30 minutes on non smooth roads. Get clammy, feeling sick, being sick and just feeling so unwell.

So you're describing motion sickness.

Okay so, I don't like dramamine. My ENT guy had prescribed Meclizine, which as I understand it, is a non-drowse form of Dramamine. However, when he prescribed Meclizine I had not been diagnosed yet with AF. But if your doctor says it's okay to take, I'm thinking the pharmacist is reacting to the drowsing of Dramamine. Given this scenario, you can buy the non-drowsy Meclizine on Amazon from a reputable company and to further add - read the personal reviews - people complain of vertigo and being dizzy daily and this pill seems to work for them. Also you can split it in two quite easily.

Great thanks will order and try, I am traveling for 3 months so it's really cheap considering how many come in a tub. I also suffer from vertigo so even better.

How awful, fellow sufferer. I feel for you.

I find acupressure bands, bought from Boots the chemist, to be far more effective than the pills. We used to routinely sail across the Bay of Biscay to Northern Spain and I found the bands incredibly effective. So much so that I couldn’t even take them off to have a shower, so got used to leaving them on and getting them wet. The alternative was that awful awful sensation of wanting to crawl into a hole .

Never heard of these but will certainly take a look. The sickness feeling is just so bad I am sure most will try about anything to relive it. On my recent journey on the avanti fast train and I was just praying away time 😅

I can certainly relate to having motion sickness!! I have a great remedy.

Ginger.

That's all you need. My daughter and I went on a cruise a few years ago. I did a lot of research before I went on the cruise and learned about ginger for motion sickness. I took it and brought it with me. My daughter got sick almost as soon as we boarded the ship. I gave her ginger - just a dip of your fingertip into ginger powder - and she got well just about immediately. She thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the cruise with no more motion sickness.

I have heard this a lot I recently got some ginger tea and I thought during my horrific 12 hour train journeys across se Asia I should be able to pick up ginger tea 🍵 will be amazing if It provides the same relief a travel sickness tablet does k

Hello, we travel by ship a lot and I’ve asked extensively as Im on beta blockers and in permanent AF. I was told that I could take Sturgeron by my GP and several pharmacists. I’ve taken them for the last four years or so with no ill effects.

I have taken nondrowsy Dramamine when I have flown. Did not ask the doctor. Did not notice any difference in my afib. Maybe I should’ve asked the doctor.

My doctor said Bonine would be better for me to take for motion sickness than Dramamine, but that neither should set off afib. I personally have taken both at various times and neither has had any effect other than controlling my motion sickness. Good luck!

I used to use scopolamine patches for boat sickness. Worked great and would last 24+hrs. Shouldn't interfere with afib. Don't know if they are available OTC or need a prescription. Call your pharmacist or GP..
