Knowing how so many of you love all your gizmos I thought I would pass on the following.

Yesterday I popped into Hidden Hearing (other audiology companies are available) to collect some new batteries for my aid and was chatting to the consultant there about battery life etc when he told me about the next generation of hearing aids which will have re-chargable Li-on batteries (Deep joy. Not.).

He also told me that so small is the tech that new features will be included. These may include real time BP, Blood ox and heart rate monitoring to a phone app. Whoopy, even more to worry about I thought!

Thin end of the wedge I fear before we are all linked to a central computer monitoring our thoughts a la 1984? With the current range of aids costing nearly as much as my first house I do wonder how many people will actually be able to afford this new generation of hearing aids or even when they will appear but it is food for thought. (Sorry Big Brother didn't mean it)

Mind how you go.

Bob.

Nearly sixty years of motor sport and a diving accident when I was 14 did for my ears.

Yes indeed,Central Control is well and truly on its way! I think its Shanghai where iris recognition is used in all public places?

Children will probably be chipped at birth soon, like our pets are now..in the name of safety of course?!!

Added to Mr Corbyn's very kind offer of free fast broadband (aka China/North Korea style control).

Big Brother is here and he's after YOU!

We already have the Ministry of Truth. (aka Fake News.)

Ah yes, tinnitus and mild hearing loss but I'm still not spending a four figure sum for a pair of digital hearing aids. On the other hand it's useful with election broadcasts and political canvassers :-)
