Myocardial Perfusion Stress Test NM Mps Tf Stress Gated - has anyone had one. Are you left well enough to drive home afterwards?

Just wanted to know if I will be in a fit state to drive myself the 30miles or so home after the test. I'd really appreciate hearing other peoples experiences.

I have done some amazingly daft things in my life but don't think I would want to do this. Far better to have a friend take you I think. Whilst I am sure that you would be fine just the stress of the whole event may be distracting so please err on the side of caution.

Thanks Bob I'll take your advice.

Yes I've had one. I drove home after. Other than the odd sensation of your heart speeding up and feeling like you need a wee when they inject you it's fine.

Heart rate doesn't even get raised by much and it's only for a very short time.

Thanks Mike - just a little worried its going to tip me into a lengthy period of ectopics and tachycardia or god forbid a return to PAF!!!!

No guarantees I guess. Good luck

thanks

I would take a driver. Some people breeze right thru it and others react severely to the injection. They warned me of reactions and I would have thought I was dying when it hit had they not warned me. I would not have been safe driving home

Thanks Hoski - I think I'm going to try to get a driver or put some plan B in place

All these replies are good to know. I'm having this test on Monday, after the 'resting' test last week. Thanks Goldfish7, for asking the question.
