Weird dreams

I had a really weird dream last night, I was at a fun fair and queuing to go on the roller coaster. As I got to the front of the cue the guy who straps you in whispers in my ear “you know this ride blasts you into space, hold tight or you won’t come back”

As the ride starts, all seems normal but when the roller coaster went over the first peak we went through a wormhole into deep space.

I was fine even without a space suit but all the other people died.

When the roller coaster came to a stop back on earth all the other seats were empty.

Nothing at all to do with AF but I’d welcome your thought none the less?

Glad I'm not the only one with wierd dreams. Can't begin to explain that one though but it seems positive as far as you go.

Sounds a bit “out of this world” to me 😃 Glad you survived your trip to space. Pity about the others. My interpretation- you are tougher than you give yourself credit for. Hold on tight and you can survive anything, even having to deal with AF.

Hi Japaholic - good to hear from you. Dreams are interesting and there are lots of theories about their purpose but the main one is how we file away the experiences of the day and try to make sense of our experiences but because it’s not a cognitive act, everything gets mixed up so very mundane items and people get mixed up with very bizarre events. Things to consider:-

Was it a one off dream or a dream on a theme of dreams?

Was it in colour or B&W?

Was there sound?

How did you feel when you awoke from it?

World events are such that it is very easy to get caught up in worries and concerns about the huge events and challenges that our world is facing at the moment but if you reflect on your dream in a sort of day-dreamy way you can often find meaning for you - and that is the important bit. It doesn’t matter how others interpret your dream - there will be some bizarre, underlying meaning for you.

Everyone dreams, every night but we don’t always remember our dreams - unless we are woken suddenly or it is morning.

Dreams are very important to our well-being and unless you suddenly start having awake dreams or hallucinations or start acting them out whilst asleep are nothing to be unduly concerned about.

My best guess is that you may have been watching a news item or a film recently which unnerved you somewhat which may have been below your immediate attention but is something that is troubling you.

In color and sound, when I woke up I was very puzzled as it was so vivid. It seemed real.

when it’s vivid & in technicolour it is asking for your attention IMHO. Read the article - the science of dreams is fascinating.

Did you feel exhausted when you woke up? I’m sure it’s the drugs, I dream a lot more and sometimes feel as if I’ve been active all night 😳

I felt as if I’d been through it, yes

I would interpret this as despite problems you may have had in life, you have survived them whereas others may have fallen. You have sought and listened to advice and that has made you come out of the tunnel you were in as a stronger person.

You are at a good place in your life right now and all the people that dragged you down are gone forever.

It’s interesting but I really don’t know what to make of it. I’ve been watching a lot of history documentaries recently about deep pre history.

Also stuff about the Freemasons and sacred geometry.

I will read the recommended article given time, even a day later I actually feel as if I have been through a wormhole.

Subconscious is amazing, consciousness in general fascinates me deeply.

Trust your body sensations & your intuition. If something comes to you from nowhere follow that thread & if it resonates somehow with you then it may be important for you right now.

It’s your interpretation or the sense you make of it which is important.

What meds are you on. I get weird dreams with Flecainide & never take it later than 7pm or they become nightmarish.

Flecanide nearly killed me! I’m on Bisoprolol and a Japanese Antiarrythmic called “bepricor”

I have been told that the key is how the dream made you feel.

I felt confused, as it was so vivid I felt it could have actually have been real. I only know it wasn’t because my wife’s snoring woke me up!

Atleast your dreams are rollercoasters and outer space, mine is about dead people and shit..

One of the theories of why we have this type of dream is that it is less traumatic for us to process than when we are awake - we don’t get the rise in Nora-adrenaline. I’m sure though some will disagree as I have woken in a cold sweat from nightmares!

We've had lengthy discussions about dreams on here. A recurring one of mine is going into a public toilet and discovering its filthy and overflowing and I'm desperate to go, but each cubicle is like that. Or I'll be at a party at a friends house and the toilet is in the corner of the kitchen, I need to use it but people are everywhere laughing and enjoying themselves. This could originate from the fact I hate public toilets!

Another is I go down some steps to a crypt and mummified bodies start to chase me. That could have come from visiting a large crypt like place in Palermo, Sicily, where hundreds of mummified bodies are stood displayed around the walls, somehow wired up there. What a horrifying place that was! 😯👻💀
