Taking Clarythromycin with AF!

Hi everyone recently diagnosed and taking Bisoprolol and Eliquis.

I have got a Chest Infection and have been prescribed Clarithromycin. I am worried about taking this as it says on the leaflet that it shouldn't be taken if you have got a Heart Rhythm Disorder. Do you think this applies to A Fib.

Also, I have never been prone to Chest Infections, are they more common when you have A Fib, do you think.

I don't know what I would do without the Forum. I have Polymyalgia Rheumatica and their Forum has been invaluable to me.

Thank you all, Jenny x

AF does not generally make us any more likely to infection of any sort but of course infections may well exacerbate AF. There are a lot of nasty bugs around at present.

If there was a serious concern your pharmacist should have flagged it but bearing in mind that a serious chest infection is much more dangerous than AF I'd take it regardless.
