If you have an abcess then he won't be removing it for sure. Antibiotics will be the way forward for now and should not be a problem unless you are on warfarin in which case have INR test in a few days as these can affect INR levels. If and when he does decide on extraction make sure you ask for adrenaline free injection.
Make sure he/she has your full medical history updated.

Yes tell him / her if you are on anticoagulants,and not to give you adrenaline based anaesthetic. They won't do a lot usually until the infection is down,so you will most likely have a course of antibiotics first to do that.
