Developed a 2nd dvt after resuming eliquis

Talked too soon :(

I stopped taking eliquis end of June and am back to taking xarelto starting August. I was on eliquis for 3 months and were the worst of my life.

Somehow i managed to develop a new dvt on the same leg (right) as last one, different spot.

Feeling so discouraged... i know it all gets better at some point, trying to swim above the negative it is sometimes just hard!.

Does the body just gets used to blood thinners that once y come out of them you develop new clots?

Thanks guys!

Hi Anna - so sorry you have had that experience but I think I am unqualified to answer your question but offer sympathy.

I have never experienced any problems taking anticoagulants. I wonder if changing to another one may help?

Best wishes CD.

We are not medically trained so best to discuss with your medical team but i can say that the body does not "get used" to anticoagulants. Obvioulsy if you stop taking them then your risk increases. That is why you are taking them to reduce risk.

I have discussed seems we have cultural and language barriers 😂 anyways they do not think side effects i talk about come from eliquis and in this case xarelto.

Upwards and onwards

Thanks for taking the time :) I appreciate it!

I started Eliquis about one week ago! I HATED how l was feeling. However, each day that l was on it, l felt better and better. Today, l feel wonderful! All of my tests are perfect! I saw my cardiologist today and he said that everything was picture perfect!

May I ask what side effects you get on xarelto?

I was on Eliquis for over a year and had no side effects. I have since had a watchman implanted after my second ablation and have been off blood thinners since the first of this year.
