Fast heart beat

My heart is racing at 120 this morning. Normally I am 60 ish. Any suggestions to bring it down please.

Try one of the Valsalva manoeuvres. Take a deep breath. Hold your nose, clamp your lips shut and try to blow as hard as you can for as long as you can.

You could also try gently pressing on your eye balls or massaging your carotid arteries.

Above all relax.

How are you feeling now? Is your heart still racing? There was a post a week or so ago that discussed ways to stop AF. EngMac also talked about stretching the spine to help his.

My heart rate is 114 and well over 130 all day long and this is just pottering around in doors

How are you feeling now, has your rate gone down at all? I expect you’ve tried all the usual tricks, deep breathing etc. If not maybe ring the help line at Harefield. Hope it settles soon 🤗🤗

I have just got back from hospital. I tried the breathing but the blood pressure was doing all stupid things also like 192 over 100. I tried 111 and they said get a taxi to a walk in clinic, then I spoke to a nurse and she phoned an ambulance.

They couldn't get a good reading cos the heart was rubbish just then. No "p" waves so off to general hospital A&E and have been there all day.

I am stiff!!!! Digoxin did the trick.

They are making an appt. with the Arythyma nurse for me.

Must say the last dr who emphasised she was a consultant, and saw me after 5 hours.. said was I sure I didn't have panic attacks.

hi, try drinking about three glasses of ice cold water quickly , that used to work for me... it’s seems to shock it back into normal rhythm.
