Fast heart rate.

Hi just a quick question. My friend who is a nurse checked my heat rate today and said it was fast at 87 per min. It’s very irregular as I have been diagnosed with Parox AF , (which I’m almost sure has now progressed to full time AF) Is my heart rate any Thing to worry about at that rate? I’m on bisoprolol 10 mg per day, also pradaxa.

I don’t feel I’ll, but weary, but nothing serious.

Thankyou.

I am also on the same as you and feel very weary most of the time. Have small windows of energy to do something and then WAM. I am 82 so I just put it down to age. Its no fun is it???

Bisoprolol often makes people feel very tired and lethargic. You could ask your doctor if you could try a lower dose, or be transfered to Nebivolol for example, which is much less wearying.

It’s quite draining isn’t it!

At 87 I wouldn't say it was a problem. It wouldn't even trigger a score on the NHS NEWS2 monitoring (when someone comes to you and records your observations in hospital like BP, HR, Breathing, oxygen)

That's generally what my average resting HR is when not in PAF.

Best wishes.

Thankyou, Im just out of hospital and they wouldn’t release me until my HR was 60/70 so I assumed I should go back. Not the case . Thanks
