Hi, just a question please. We are going on holiday in 4 weeks and my Colin is on so many tablets after his heart attacks and stent along with having a kidney removed due to cancer and on top of that they are monitoring his lung at the moment, just wondered if any one can give me advice on who to go to for insurance. We are flying to Tenerife. Thanks Ursula x take care everyone x

My suggestion would be to focus on those companies which specialise in medical conditions.

Personally I use travelinsurance4medical.co.... Which is a branch of World First. I’ve never been refused but only because I ring them rather than go online. There are other companies who specialise so do shop around.

Expect a loading on top of the basic insurance policy but what I like is that you will be offered 3 levels of cover. Tennariffe is Spain so you always pay more for Spain than any other country in Europe.

Have a great holiday.

Have a look at the ' Related Posts' top right, the sub heading 'Insurance' contains lots of useful information and links. Make sure your E111's are up to date.

Hi. I don't wish to worry you any more than you already are, but over summer we flew long haul, and I've flown long haul many times before with no issues, but since last March my palpitations have become far worse which is why I'm on here now. Anyway, on that long haul flight, it just wouldn't stop. Flip flops, flutters, cartwheels, etc. I was in tears. I don't know if it was the altitude or what. It wasn't until I got off the plane that they calmed down a bit. Coming back to the UK I still had flutters, but they weren't nearly as bad as flying out. But it scared me so much that I will not fly long haul until they figure out what's going on and I'm on whatever medication I need to be on. I think Money Supermarket can compare deals for insurance?

Did you read all the small print ? When I was on several medications for hypertension read it and found that if on more than two tablets to contact them. I did and they added £100 to my annual premium. That was Insureandgo who I had used for years. The ones manning the phones are very often students doing it as a summer job.
