Tomorrow I have my follow up appointment following my ablation in July. Everything has been going reasonably ok. Had the holter on over the weekend (48Hrs). Returned it yesterday. Well tonight, guess what? In AF I can not tell you how disappointed I am and why didn’t it do it whilst wearing the holter. I feel totally miserable.
Disappointed : Tomorrow I have my... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Disappointed
Oh dear. Something similar happened to me - had PM check - yep great no AF - 2 days later I knew I was in AF & next appointment is months away.
Hope it ceases soon. Still fairly early days for you - are you on any rhythm drugs? If not maybe a good idea to give the arrythmia nurse a call tomorrow morning for suggestions.
I am on Adizem for the arrhythmia, didn’t sleep too well and having ectopics at present. I don’t have a nurse I can call on never been offered. I am seeing my consultant later today.
So sorry mate that this has returned as CDreamer said it’s still early days, can I ask are you still in AF or back in sinus now? And why where you giving a holter?
I am having ectopics at present, AF calmed during the night. I had the holter in preparation of seeing consultant today.
Please let us know how you get on with the consultant your still on early days as it’s a 3 month window for your heart and the scars to fully heal
Thank you Padayn01 your support means such a lot. I am normally a positive person but seem to be struggling with the disappointment at the moment.
Mate I know exactly how you feel I’m almost 6 weeks post ablation and still getting skipped beats and ectopics and you just think to yourself why is the ablation not working but this forum is great to know that give it a 3 month window before you tell yourself it hasn’t worked so we still got time
It's common to have skipped beats etc during the blanking period, even 6 - 12 months on its the case, and it's still very early days yet for you. The trauma of the op and stress of recovery doesn't help, when joined with anxiety when you feel it's not worked it all adds up to feeling anxious , I had mine in April this year and now I'm much better after a few bumps on the way , its really was 5-6 months before I started feeling this much better, please try to relax and take it as a little blip, am sure itl settle, make sure your well hydrated and sleeping enough, hope it goes OK, keep us posted.
Ian.
Thank you so much Ianp66, you are right perhaps I am trying to rush things, when you have a bad day it is hard to keep positive but I always feel so much better after talking to you all on this site. I think I was dehydrated yesterday as I had had a busy day. Onward and upward!!
Anytime mate, I know only to well how it feels in the early stages, I think our minds do overtime. I was walking after a week and a month I was doing well. Just don't overdo it like I did no matter how good you feel, give you self time to heal its a long process, as others hafw said when the bruising starts to disappear the hearts just starting to heal as its had some bashing. Get into Netflix or box sets and try just block it out, if no we're here to chat to.
Ian.
Well that’s it, Aufgeblassen, my consultant has already put me on the list for another! Next time though Ianp66 I will relax more and let the family spoil me, plus i will call on you all for support. Padayn01 I hope all goes well for you. Keep me informed all of you. It’s lonely out here.
So are you still in A fib or are you back in NSR?
I still get ectopics 20 months after my cryo ablation. They are random I can go weeks without them thèn get a run. My EP is not concerned so i ignore them for the most part and I think I am getting more succesful at doing so. Some last seconds and are a run of 5 or 7 strange beats that i feel as strange violent heartbeat s in my chest and are irregular, some last quite a bit longer, several minutes and are a fluttery feeling in my upper chest/neck. Sometimes they last for up to 8 hours of similar symptoms which can be irritating and uncomfortable. These are more rare and it's months since such a long run happened . I am not aware I have had afib at all since my cryo.
To be honest I could not tell you I never had ectopics prior to afib, as I may not have noticed before I got hyper sensitized to everything heart related by having A fib! I don't take any drugs since May 2018.
Hi KMRobbo, I thought I was back in NSR but this morning 101 HB much much better though (fingers crossed it doesn’t go any higher) my other problem is it affects my BP which causes me concern, my consultant said to speak to GP about that.
When I read your post I thought I was reading my own symptoms, I too am super sensitive as I think a lot of us who have AF are which doesn’t help. I also experience really strong ectopics which sometimes feel so powerful that it stops me in my tracks and are really uncomfortable. When I was talking to my consultant yesterday I said that some times I cannot tell whether i am in AF or just constant ectopic and she totally understood what I meant, she said sadly ectopics are not something that can be helped with ablation. I have to continue on the meds prescribed for a bit longer 😔
So now I have to try and get a doctors appointment for BP which here in UK takes forever sometimes. Happy Wednesday
