I recently wore a heart monitor for 48 hours for uncomfortable episodes of ectopic heart beats, however when I wore the monitor I only felt ONE ectopic and havemt been experiencing any uncomfortable episodes for a few weeks now. But what's worrying me is that I got a phone call from the hospital today to confirm an appointment with the cardiologist? In a week! It was an automated phone call so I couldn't ask what it was about I did phone afterwards but they are closed so I will have to phone tomorrow to find out more about what the appointment is actually for. Very scared now any one have any ideas about what to expect at my appointment?? Thank you

It will be to discuss whatever they found on the 48 hour holter monitor. This would be normal procedure and you should relax and be glad they are looking after you so well. Many people wait months for appointments.
Actually I have a significant number of them and svt according to my cardiologist but this was a routine appointment regarding the results of my 72 hr holster
Oh ok! Not so good. They're really unpleasant. I spoke with a doctor a while ago who said they weren't sure if I was experiencing episodes of SVT or not. Time will tell though. Hope your keeping well. X
Try not to read too much into the prompt response,it's good to hear back quickly? I wore one for 7 days ..still.waiting after 5 weeks for results. I know I had events during that week ...!( All sorts of personal stuff ,tooth extraction and heatwave?)
My EP us apparently on holifday
I bet you that your quick response is just as they worked through the pile
Cancellation? When I had my monitor I didn't feel a thing, very disappointing, by the report said I had frequent episodes of PAF. The cardiologist was actually looking for sick sinus syndrome which wasn't bad enough for a pacemaker so I was in and out in two minutes. Hope yours s helpful X
Hi Stacey, I would not worry, your cardiologist will have seen your 48 hour results and will be able to interpret the results and give you a more considered re view. I think it is a normal follow up after wearing the device.
I had a 96 hour measure and although there was only one "big" event like yours, there were other indications that needed to be discussed.
AF is very treatable and can be managed, so ( excuse the pun)take heart and keep positive.
Best wishes and keep using the forum , it is very supportive
