What a miserable day. Have struggled to do anything all day. Couldn't even be bothered to go get a paper although I did have a bath!
Any tips as tomorrow is going to be the same and I am struggling for breath.

Do you have a fan? Any type, large or small.I bought one last autumn after the 2 months heatwave having sworn i could not suffer again as I had done in that summer.
I sympathise. I’ve felt terrible discomfort and stress.
The heat definitely makes me worse, very short of breath and heartbeats all over the place, so nice now it's cooled down.
Yes, finding it very difficult this year. Have 2 fans on all night and doing as little as possible during the day. Am keeping well hydrated .
ha, me too...a fan in every room and I'm wearing a cool scarf thingy my daughter gave me and it sure helps. In fact I have it round my head at the moment as I'm so hot! ( no, there's no photo of that!! ) You soak it in cold water and it really does help cool you down.
I also have a chillow pillow at night and used it last night to great relief.
I'm just staying indoors and anything I'm doing is done slowly.
So glad to read this thread and realise I'm not alone in the overheating department!
Stay well

The cool scarf & chillow pillow - not heard of these before - were they bought in the uk? Please
Yes, I'm in Scotland . My daughter lives in London and she got me the scarf and my son got me the chillow pillow and I just saw both on amazon earlier today!!
It's lovely now that it has cooled down. Hopefully the weather will cool down later in the week. Keep well all. X
Hiya Becksagogo,
Sorry to be the odd one out - loving the heat and humidity - turn it up a bit please.
Awesome stuff, even though I have been working through it, driving a non air conditioned bus.
But then again I've lived over 35 years of my life in eastern Australia - and it takes me 'home'.
The hottest time I can recall off the top of my head was when my kids were tots and we lived in Melbourne ... 7 days in a row of daytime temps of 44 degrees. That's a bit hot, must say.

A few years ago I would have loved this weather but since the onset of heart "problems" I absolutely dread it. Back to work and air con tomorrow!
Aircon you know you need it now with global warming the UK is going to be tropical
Like carneuny, I love the warmth too...mainly becoz most of the time I feel cold, when its less than 18 degrees. I blame it on thyroid and Warfarin meds!!
Although stood for an hour to watch the scooterists "ride past" here on the Isle of Wight and felt very fatigued afterwards.!
I would say, don't TRY and do anything....just give in and accept it's hot......it won't last much longer...assuming you are in the UK.
Oh I bet the scooters were a sight to behold!
Yes I'm near Brighton in the UK and the forecast is for good weather for a few days. I'm back to work tomorrow where air con beckons!
A friend of mine was playing in a "The Who" tribute band at the event this weekend
I often end up in hospital in February which is New Zealands hottest month but not because of AF but because I can't store salt due to other medical problems. Thinking about a trip to Singapore but concerned about the heat there.
I've booked to go to Lanzarote for a week in October and have arranged assistance at Gatwick and Lanzarote Airports but the nearer I get to the departure date the more I am worried whether I will cope with the heat. Hopefully being October the temperature will be bearable!
Oh you are brave! My son was living in Singapore for a year recently and agreed with me that the heat/humidity would be more than I could bear. I wish you well. I'm melting now at the heat here in Scotland so heaven knows how I'd ever cope abroad!!!
Stay well,
Blue
John lewis do a super hand fan... rechargeable so you can take it around with you. I think just £12.
Hello Becksagogo, my good wife suggests a hot water bottle filled with cold water and
left in your fridge for a few ours to really chill, then take it out and sit on it. Two bottles
is best then you can use one after t'other. It works cos that's what she does ! Stay cooool !!
Here in France we have hot temperatures most summers though this year we have had two periods of extreme heat and today shade temps are set to rise in my neck of the woods to 34/35° . But traditionally designed houses are better able to cope. Windows are narrower and longer so the sun is shining in for less time and many are equipped with shutters. In the daytime we close all the windows , put up the balcony umberellas and pull out the awning over our bedroom window. We darken the south facing rooms by closing blinds /curtains to keep the rooms cool. At night we open everything up . We have a screen door on the bedroom French window so as to keep out insects. Today I will not work in the garden but catch up with housework for a couple of hours or so. Not too much - even inside you have to pace yourself. I managed to weather the last two heatwaves with no episodes of afib but it is depressing living in darkened rooms for a week! Not to mention the gardening withdrawal symptoms.
A similar trick to the cold water bottle is to fill a large plastic botte with water, freeze it then wrap it in a towel.
Lucky you "en France". I have a very good friend in Brittany who is living such a lovely life.
I too have opened all the windows and closed all the curtains.
Will try the cooled towel later.
We close the windows during the day to keep out the heat. We only open them when the outside temperature is less than that shown by the thermometer in our bedroom. In the two heatwaves earlier this year this often was not till 9-30 pm. The highest temperature we had on our balcony thermometer this summer was 39° so not as bad as some areas that had up to 44°. Brittany is the new Cote d'Azur. The French are flocking there for seaside hols with reasonable temperatures!
Where I live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama in the US, summers are hot and humid and doing anything outside is next to impossible. I find it harder to breathe and the heat absolutely wears me out. (And fatigue is my biggest trigger for AFib). Fortunately, we have air conditioning - I seriously doubt I could live here if we didn't.
This is going to sound weird, but try it😂 Ice pack under each armpit cools you down. If I’m having an episode of what was SVT at night, hubby go’s down to the freezer.
Yes I struggled a bit. I bought one of those industrial fans. Cost £46 but is amazing. Bought for dogs originally. Blows you away on high but is fantastic.
I know the feeling! It’s been hard the last few weeks with the heat. All I can say is that I’ve found drinking more water than usual, having a small portable fan with me and just taking it a bit easier helps. Here in Sussex it’s like a sweat box! 🥵
