3 weeks post Abalation Update

I am still feeling amazingly wonderful. I had the abalation for Afib and flutter. I haven't felt this great since my late 20s. I had been dragging this around with me since then. Explains alot. Energy level increased. I am taking an easy. I never thought I would feel this good again.

Lovely to hear positive news. I'm 10 weeks on from my first ablation and although a hiccup in the first week I am also feeling confident that I made the right decision. Taking it slowly even now is key though, and once the 3 month point is reached i'm going cold turkey on my meds!!

That’s great news. I find it difficult to explain to people how AF makes me feel. I’ve had a couple of failed ablation’s but while I was out of AF I felt like a new man. Currently waiting for follow up appointment but posts like yours help keep me positive for the future.

Great to hear Robodog2, I agree here I am over a year later and the difference is amazing, living without AF is so calming.

Amazing news are you still on beta blockers?

Just one. Go to my post op 1 month appt in a week. The dr said I might be on them for the 3 to 6 month thing. We'll see. Since the abalation my blood pressure has been purring like a kitten and my heart rate stays in the 60s or 70s. And it used to run 123 and above. My blood pressure usually ranged 150/102. Now 110/80. No pain. No lethargy. And I used to be on 5 blood pressure meds a day and had been for nearly 37 years. So yeah...Brand NEW day for me. This condition literally took my life away from me.

That’s brilliant news blood pressure in range and heart beat in good BPM can I just ask when your heart rate went to 123 bpm was that with the beta blockers?

Yes. That is why I was on the 5 different bp meds. It took a cocktail to keep my heart from exploding and from strokeville. I had lived like this for the past 35 years. My energy level which was very high plummeted. I was out of breath. Chest pains. Migranes. In and out of ER 2 to 3 times a week getting IV meds to bring my heart and bp down. So this is like a new lease on life. Plus the beta blockers drive a stake thru your energy level but the options aren't good.

What a great result you have had - have you had just one ablation? Good to hear your recovery has gone so well.

Just the one. The flutter fix helped bunches. I could feel my heart quivering. So the left side the Afib. The right side the flutter. I was expected the messed up clown to pop outta my chest at one point. Some Jack Kingston moments for sure. But I'm good now. Thank you Baby Jesus!!!
