High blood pressure after ablation

Hi All...I think I slipped back into A F yesterday, blood pressure very high for quite a few hours, light headed felt awful, bpm around 75 to 83 ...I don’t think it was erratic. Chest pain, which I think was my heart under stress...pretty sure I wasn’t having a heart attack. Tried to keep myself calm as possible....didn’t phone GP..... but decided if I felt like it today, I would. Fortunately blood pressure ok today, so what triggered this off. Have phoned hospital to speak to Arrythmia nurse for best advice, should this happen again...also tried to bring my appointment forward for cardiologist appointment at end of August, like asking to fly to the moon. I would go privately but have to have a E K G at same time. I also still have the crackly chest, which antibiotics havn’t cleared. Now wondering if this is heart failure, I was very short of breath yesterday. Post second ablation 9 weeks. I know from all helpful posts that I have received that it all takes time, and I appreciate that. Wondering if others have experienced these symptoms and is it all part of the healing process.

It’s probably something connected with your chest infection but you have done all the right things. Just try checking your pulse, it’s generally quite easy to detect an abnormal pulse. Hopefully you will feel much better once your chest is better.

Hmm, just trying to think what could have been going on with you. A normal heart rate is considered to be between 60-100, so yours at the time was normal, but perhaps you're used to it being lower, or you could have unwittingly been in AF?

I can always bring my blood pressure down by taking a slow breath in, then breathing out quickly with a 'huh'. Give it a go to see if it works for you, so that you are ready if that happens again.

Do you think the pain in your chest may have worried you, hence your BP going up? Any stress takes mine high. I know some people get pain in their chests when in AF.

Have you spoken to your arrhythmia nurse yet, it would be interesting to hear what she thinks it could have been.
