Hi. After my sons 2 nd ablation in January he came off antenenol and 9 weeks later had a further svt attack he is very upset by this as now it’s been happening more and more and really needs to get on top of it as he wants to go to uni next year. He should be having a 3 rd ablation in sept fingers crossed it’s 3 rd time lucky he doesn’t want to go back on antenenol as he had been on this since he was 7 he dropped a lot of weight and never had an appetite. Since his been off medication he has gained weight and has a much better appetite . We have been in touch with royal Brompton hospital and they want to try him on flicinide From tommorrow he has a drs appointment to go back on medication could anybody give me any advise on flicinide and it’s side effects
Regards
Alison

Hi Snowball, apologies for the late reply. During the 5 years I have had AF, I have used Flecainide, both as a daily maintenance dose and as a Pill in the Pocket. I don’t remember having any problems although it did sometimes seem to cause mild constipation especially when used as a PiP. Of course we are all different and consequently we can react differently but hopefully your son will be fine and fingers crossed for a successful ablation in September....best wishes.
Thanks for your reply could I just also ask does the flicinide control the attacks My son. Seems to be getting more now since he hasn’t been on medication since his last ablation in January
