As many as you know my ablation is scheduled for.next week I have paroxysmal A-fib and I was getting it on a daily basis for several months which made me make the decisions to have the ablation but of course I have not gotten a episode in 5 weeks after adjusting the dose of the flecainide the higher doses give me a pro arrhythmia effect It has crossed my mind to this postpone the ablation but I know it could come back, and can get progressively worse so I've decided to go with it and deal with this and the problems I have with the general anesthesia thank you all for your help

Good to read a positive post from you. Keep thinking this way and it will help you through. Before you realise it will be this time next week.

Remember one if the best pieces of advice for after the ablation is to rest, rest & more rest for at least 2 weeks.

Good for you Euve, keep us posted. Pete’s right in that positive thinking really, really does help. Imagine a life without AF and how you will be and what you can do.

Keep posting, we are here to support you. Best wishes CD.

Good luck Euve ! Sounds like the best decision. I recently cancelled my 4th ablation as I was almost 12 months AF free but that is a different situation to yours. In my part of the UK we are not allowed to postpone an ablation once an appt is given ....it is either take it or lose it !!

Well done Euve, make sure they are aware of your concerns and I’m sure they will do what they can to help. Don’t forget to let us know how you you get on.....all the best.

At last, a positive post! Well done you won't regret it. Now read our Recovering from Ablation fact sheet 100 times and pay attention! lol 😁

I can pretty much guarantee that if you cancelled, the very next day you would go in to AF.

I think you have made the right decision.I was NSR for several months before my ablation, but I knew it would return and I hated the thought of being on heavy duty medication for the rest of my life.

I'm sure you have made the right decision

Euve, I was AF free (on Flecainide) for nigh on 7 months before my ablation, I'm sure you are making the right decision to go ahead. I had a GA no problem and have had a trouble free recovery to date (3months).

Hope all goes well.
