It`s exactly 6 weeks today I had my cardioversion. I`m still in NR - back of the net.
I think the 200mg flecainide dose is helping me stay in sinus. Here`s the thing though - I`m seeing my cardiologist on Monday for the 'follow up' appointment. I`m going to suggest to him that I go on verapamil too. A Flec / verapamil mix seems to to have a far better success rate than Flec alone. Link to an article in the Lancet below about this.
Anyone else on this combo ? If so your thoughts please.
When I was first put on flec in hospital, they took me off my beta blocker, which sent me into flutter a week later..so back on flec and beta as daily dose and it controlled it quite well. I'm off daily dose now but keep both as PIP.
I have been on Flecainide 100 mg twice daily. Been clear of Afib episodes for 3.7 years. And, no other side effects that I know of. Have never had an ablation or any other treatment for Afib which I have had since 2006. I did take toprol until switched to flecainide.
