Flecanide: Hi I havnt posted for a... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Flecanide
The maximum is 300mg in 24 hours according to the recognised advice.
I have taken the maximum dose a number of times as I too am on 100mg x 2 per day and then have had to take extra as PIP following an AF episode.
I would suggest you miss the next 100mg and then take the subsequent dose as usual.
You may feel a bit nauseous and very heavy limbed for about 36 hours but otherwise you should be fine.
If you want further reassurance call your EP in the morning.

I’m no good at maths but are you saying that you have taken more than 300 mgs within in a 24 hour period. If so, you have exceeded the daily limit. I’m not medically trained, but I think there is a small margin, but if I were you I would ring 111 and seek professional advice......good luck.
Thankyou or taking time to reply good advice as well xx
I would check with your doctor who may well suggest just taking your normal doses at the normal times rather than missing a dose.
Play it on the safe side by making the call - try not worry though as I`m sure it will all level out
Best,
Paul
Thankyou for your advice feel a bit better today just so disappointed I had heard about people on flecanide who don’t have another episode for years was hoping I could be one of those .Even though I hate taking it 😍Thankyou all xx
At least you are back in NR and know what triggered your afib. We all forget to take our med`s at some point - be extra vigilant from now on !
Maybe it`s worth buying a wrist watch with multi alarms ? You can set it to go off everyday at 7 am and 7 PM as an extra reminder. Bet you`ll pick one up from eBay for a fiver
Best,
Paul
It is always best to check with your doctor, but your size etc comes into play as well. I am in 300 mg per day and apparently can still take pip in top of that.......remember the 24 hours is a rolling 24 unless I am mistaken
That’s the confusing part I think but yes will do xx Thankyou
I also have been on 300 mg per day since mid April, I now set 2 alarms in my phone (apple watch) for each dose and use a weekly set up pill Dispenser since I have accidentally completely skipped a dose twice and ended up in ER for a cardioversion. I even took a extra 50 mg and did not convert. At the time I missed a dose I was on 200 mg daily though. All heart drugs are scary drug to me though since I had a cardiac arrest on Tikosyn another antiarrhymic. I have done well on this drug so far, off and on it at various dosages, started at 50 mg twice daily for 7 months, no episodes during that time. I feel factors for me are being hydrated and how much rest I get at night makes me prone to go into afib. Hope this helps...
