Flecanide

Hi everyone just wanted to ask is it normal to have chest pain when taking flecanide 2x50mg daily i have just started on this treatment i have taken flec as a pip before but as a/f was becomi ng more common my ep prescribed 2xdaily really didnt want to do it but acepted his advice and this is 2nd day.Im hoping it will wear off as my body gets used to it daily.im also worried if i have an episode and the max 300mg per day dose doesnt fix it what do you do? My last episode when i was only on 200mg pip took an extra 50mg to get rid of it.So fed up of the worry.sorry to go on thanlyou for listening x

Hi bob i mentioned it to ep as i normally got it the day after taking a pip but he didnt seem concerned.but as im taking it everyday day now im just hoping my body will get used to it.just makes you so fed up x

First,get chestpain checked,a and e if necessary.Did you have your first dose of Flec under medical supervision?

Might be Aflutter induced by the flecanaide if you have fast Afib and are not on a betablocker.

Kev - it needs investigating asap. Either an emergency appointment with GP or A&E. Don’t underplay it either - chest pain isn’t ‘normal’.
