I am now 5 days after my ablation and I am amazed at how much more energy I feel. I have to take care I don`t overdo it and undo all the work done to get me to this point. If I feel my heart `hurting` I rest. I was unable to take the Flecainide as the EP had hoped but he has made a good job so I just have to keep my fingers crossed that I can go forward. I can say at this point that it has been worth the wait. I hope good outcomes for everyone here and am thankful for the support I have received in some very dark days when I could see no hope of a future. I will post again when I have more news and I hope It will give others hope for a future.
Post Ablation update.: I am now 5 days... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Post Ablation update.
Well done . Long may it continue to improve.
The best light on earth is that at the end of the tunnel. Best wishes cali and keep improving. xx
Very glad to hear you are doing well...remember to rest..haven't had one myself but seen so many posts saying take it steady...XXX
Yes - It’s easy to get carried away when you feel so charged-up 😀
Just limit yourself to the TV remote and a cup of tea for the first few weeks.
How great to feel good again! Enjoy
Excellent news 😊
So glad you are doing well. Success stories give everyone encouragement. Thank you for sharing yours.
Glad to hear you are doing well, I too felt amazing for a week after the ablation, although like you I had to be careful not to overdo anything. But after a week of house arrest, I had to go out and took my boys bowling and had a brief episode and then the good feeling of energy left never to return again. It’s so weird when I explain to people that I can honestly I have not felt that good for almost 15 years, and made me realise what life can be like without lethargy everyday.
Pleased for you
Excellent news, May your good health continue, over a year now for me and no AF
That’s all sounds good. Did you have your procedure at Papworth. Who carried out the job ,
No at stoke with the lead EP
HI Cali, Glad to hear you are feeling well, it's important to rest as you can easily get carried away in the first few days & weeks. I had mine done (avrnt) at Stoke 5 weeks ago & am still getting ectopics which make me gasp lol, frequently with occasional fast heart rates of 160 bpm with even mild exercise. I've had no episodes of svt at all for over 6 weeks now so it's looking good (no more Adenosine hopefully). Best wishes & keep us all updated.
Just wondering if you had Simon Fynn that’s all. Take it easy. It took my husband at least nine months to get his strength back.
Good to read. I’m in my second week. It’s still a struggle for me - with palpitations and feeling light-head at times, with a real lack of energy, too - but, like you, I have my fingers crossed (as well, in my case, a few moments when I think it’s not worked, if I’m honest).
I haven’t had palpitations but exhaustion. I am anemic. You might want to check that out. Your symptoms suggest anemia for sure.
Thanks but no - all’s well with iron levels as were all blood aspects that were checked. I’m told it’s the heart muscle taking time to recover its previous capacity. The scarring takes a good while to form properly apparently and was quite extensive because of the flutter ablation. I think it’s a slow haul. I read also that more than half of ablations create some temporary fibrillation type symptoms but most settle in time - sometimes two or more months.
So very happy for you. Especially that you feel so well!!! I hope it continues forever. Get rest though 😊
Great all the best
Great to hear! Keep it light and take it slow!!!
Good news take it easy to allow the heart to heal
I am having my ablation July 02 and I am really nervous about it.
Don`t be nervous I was sedated and had pain relief when needed otherwise it was no more uncomfortable than having a filling at the dentist. I think it is due to the skill of your EP. Anyway I am now getting about a little and am on 25mg of Flecainide twice a day and that deals with any stray beats. I feel twenty years younger!
Go forward and I wish you all the success in the world.
Thanks Cali111 that makes me feel a little better
Just got round to reading this, so very pleased for you, you have had such a rough time for such a long time. Now rest!
