Well, I’ve just had my eight week post ablation check up and everything is tickety boo!
To the extent that I’m being taken off the thinners (Apixaban)
I’m over the moon at stopping those as I’ve been having two to three nightmares every night since I started then. Also, they make me terribly dehydrated.
Next check up is December unless anything untoward happens in the meantime

Derek, I am going on six weeks following second Ablation (april26 ) , feeling fairly well but going through light nightmares and same dehydration that you seem to have experienced. Eliquis, Crestor, flomax, Prilosec, are my pills of the moment. I am not a pill taker, and long for the time my doctor says stop. Walk 2 miles on treadmill each day at a little over 4mph and try to stay active during each day. I always feel better after my two sweaty miles. I never heard of nightmares and dehydration before, but it does happen with me.
My last Ablation cost the government almost $79000, Medicare picked up all except $142 and the hospital discounted that to $134. I was in the hospital less than 24 hours. The service was fantastic but I have a hard time justifying that amount of money spent. Never again for me! This great country has enough problems with entitlements and I am having a difficult time with our programs. By the by, I wish you every success in your recovery. Love these informative posts
Wow! My ablation cost ? Under $ 2,000. I am pretty sure. I am having another next ties. Will pay attention to Bill. My insurance covered everything. I did have to stay over nite so of course that would be added on but still don't think my Bill came close to that amt! Are you in the United States??
So glad to hear your doing great. I'm waiting for my July appt I've decided to go for ablation . I also worry about being on my blood thinner . I'm on Xarelto and have been on it for 6 yrs.
