Does anyone here suffer AFib and hayfever - if so what antihistamine tablets do you find work best without affecting heart problems?

thanks wilsond I'll give them a try if I can get them locally - my GP is pretty hesitant to prescribe/advise about anything to do with my PAF and the specialist team probably wouldn't respond until the season is over!!!

Hi Goldfish7 I take piriton (chlorphenamine) up to 6 a day and ceterazine (1 a day) so far without problems as the pollen count is so high at the moment. Have taken piriton over at least 10 years while on AF medication.

Hope you get something sorted.

thanks docmar - may have to give this one a miss as I used to take it prior to AFib but it started 'knocking me out' ie leaving me so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open!! which was a shame as I think it was the most effective one I tried.

I was taking cetirizine 10mg daily for decades as I have / had sinus rhinitis but about six months ago I began Serrapeptase , it is still a learning curve to how much I need per day as I started on 20k units (10mg ) and at present I take 100k - only one capsule.

Because it comes in so many formulations you need to check the unit strength (SPU ) not the stated mg. amount. I havent needed to take cetirizine since starting on serrapeptase and my sinus's have been totally clear for the first time in thirty plus years.

That sounds interesting as I've had really 'iffy' sinuses for years that never seem to fully clear since the days I used to surf ski and end up with gallons of pressurised North Sea forcing its way into my sinuses. Is Serrapeptase over the counter or prescription only?

webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingre...

Serrapeptase is a supplement made from the silkworms digestive acids.

Its not prescription in US or Australia ,appears not UK also :

I would test with a 20,000 ui capsule first before jumping to the 250,000 ui ones.

The highest I have used is 100,000 units (SUP) and only used 160,000 units in one day max. I have a range of 100,000 / 40,000 / 20,000 SUP capsules and take the highest in the morning and if needed the lowest before evening meal ( 1 hr before - has to be taken on an empty stomach )

Thanks for the info I'll definitely give it a go - it would be great to get fully functioning sinuses back again.
