had an ablation in October and was fine until around a month or so ago with afib getting worse....have been put on propafenone and have suddenly developed quite swollen legs and ankles by end of day.....wondering if it could be propafenone causing this edema......thanks for replying.

Oedema is not a side effect of propafanone I have ever come across. Calcium chanel blockers yes but this is a drug I have used on and off for years with little problems apart from a strange metalic taste all the time .

I took Propafenone for many years and didn't have probs with swollen legs until I started taking Diltiazem with it.

I took Propafenone for 2-3 months after ablation in 2012 and take infrequently since for no more than a day. I've experienced no side-effects including no edema.
