Getting of bisoprolol
Hi Colin,
i'm afraid that anxiety is one of the side effects of AF. Knowing this has helped me to try and shrug it off.
as for coming off bisoprolol , it is hard, and you will feel rough. I had terrible palpitations and short bursts of SVT for several weeks after weaning off the drug.
But it was worth it, I feel so much more alive now.
Good luck
Thank you. Just cant wait to get back to normal.
Yes, I did. Early days yet,the drug is cumulative,so takes a while to get out of our system,as our body knows something is missing!
It gets easier..Best wishes x
Perseverance Colin. Remember even when you stop taking bisoprolol it is one that
remains in your body for a short time. Then when you are completely clear normality
returns. So stick with it, it's well worth it ! Good luck !
Thanks for that . It really helps to know that. Thank you.
Before I was prescribed Bisoprolol I could eat and drink anything without amy adverse reactions. After 7 weeks the painful rashes started. I was taken off Bisoprolol in 8 weeks, from 2.5mg to none. The urticaria which it triggered remains and is with me every day and night. I have become intolerant of the foods I like - blue cheese, black tea and alcohol, oranges and other foods. Of all my ailments - permanent AF, Asthma, lymphoedema, and urticaria - urticaria gives me the most problems.
It would be more beneficial to cut the drugs down little by little rather then every other day as the latter give 'peaks and troughs' with a shortish half-life.
