I was just wondering if anyone experienced very achy muscles in legs and arms Mainly top part and also back pain It seems since I was put on Vit D two weeks ago all my old injuries from falls in work have come back to haunt me Even my knee from a fall has flaired up I'm now waiting for bloods in two weeks to check levels before I go onto one tablet monthly but I now feel so much worse than before I went on them Even walking up stairs is hard
If not the Vit D could it now after a year nearly be my Bisoprolol or even Apixaban

Hi Vonnie did you have a blood test for Vitamine D deficiency, what dose of the supplement are you taking.
I damaged the cartridge in my knee last October which made walking difficult and as the muscles in my legs stiffened I assumed it was because I wasn't walking so much and there was a degree of age related stiffness. Over the winter things have got must worse, my legs and back ache, getting up from a chair, climbing stairs, walking any distance has become difficult and I can't stand up for long without feeling my legs are weak and shaky.
I then thought my problem might be due to my AF medication so I eventually went to the GP for blood tests and was surprised to find my Vitamin D levels are very low and this could cause the symptoms I am experiencing. The Doctor has prescribed a low dose of Vitamin D and said it can take 6 months before there is any improvement.
After some research and a discussion with another member here I have increased the dose of Vit D (but I can't advise you to do the same ).
Hi Vonnie I am taking 4000iu a day for 10 weeks in line with the NICE guidelines for deficiency. ....

''Several treatment regimens are available, including 50,000 IU once a week for 6 weeks (300,000 IU in total), 20,000 IU twice a week for 7 weeks (280,000 IU in total), or 4000 IU daily for 10 weeks (280,000 IU in total)''.
Hi Glad that's a nuisance I am relieved I am not on Warfarin then...
Hopefully your symptoms will improve on the vitamin D. If not, there is another condition which might explain some of your symptoms called Polymyalgia Rheumatica though this is generally only seen in the over 50s.
Hi Vonnie. I was prescribed Vitamin D and felt as you do for the first 6 weeks. Thought they were making me worse! But after that the achy muscles and joints eased and I felt better. So persevere for a bit longer x
What a horrible employer! Kicking a person when they're down. Oh well, only 3 years till State pension thanks to the politicians who changed the qualifying age from 60 to 66 for women.
