Tight chest and aching muscles.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a tight feeling in the chest , a bit like a sprain and aching muscles? I am 2 weeks post Ablation. Pulse is fine. I am still having to rest a lot and am being quite sensible, but worried about the achiness. Any suggestions will be gratefully received! Thank you

Two weeks is still early days so l wouldn't be to concerned yet...

We are manhandled during Ablation ie lifted and lying in positions we wouldn't normally be in especially the head and neck turned to the side to prevent chocking...This can then put other muscles out of alignment in back and arms especially as we get older and maybe arthritic or have fybromalalga etc.

Epsom salts baths and/or gentle massage may help ...Don't worry it is all pretty normal following Ablation and it will be worth the discomfort in the end...

If to bad though your DR.may suggest some mild pain relief..

Is the feeling in your chest constant, or does it come and go? If constant it could be muscle strain or even an infection. If the ache is coming and going I would see your GP today. I guess you're aware that a constricting,or heavy feeling in the heart area is often a sign of a heart attack. I never experienced this after any of my three ablations. What harm would there be in just seeing or speaking to your GP today?

Best wishes

Jean

Thank you Jean. The ache is fairly constant, but worse if I have been doing too much. It isn’t really an ache or pain, but a tight feeling, which gets better when I sit down and take some deep breaths. I don’t feel it at night.

Hi! I'm almost 4 months post ablation and some times I have this feeling you described. My chest is tight when I do something physical or when I have a particular position.

Thank you Lien-Ju. That is helpful. Certainly I feel it more when I have done too much.
