I have persistent AF, does anyone else suffer with tight chest and light aching pains especially when breathing in? My body feels all achy and tight. I recently came back from Egypt with a bad stomach infection that wiped me out for a good 3 weeks! Haven’t really moved off sofa and bed. Could this be while I feel so many aches and pains in chest, back etc and neck when I turn to one side? Thanks all

Any chest pain should be checked out with your doctor. Sounds like stomach infection may not be alone.
Tight chest and chest pain means hospital visit a&e. Sorry
Hi
I was on the Nile Boat and I also got stomach bug.
The med had sulphur and I ended up big welts all over.
Chemist guided me to take rice in salt water, add glucose. I got over within 5 days so you needed to have replenished your electrolytes.
I reckon it was the pudding out under the hot sun.
It would be a strain on your heart. Relax, sleep lots, and check with your Dr.

I definitely experienced tightness and occasional pain in my chest with persistent AF and the EP seemed to think this was normal. I had the ambulance out a couple of times and it was a relief to have my heart checked out. A paramedic on the second occasion this occured also happened to be a trained physiotherapist. He checked out posture etc and explained how a (small) defect in posture was causing muscular pain in the heart area. So yes, get off that sofa and take yourself down a & e but do some gentle stretches on the way and remember to breathe!
I have had chest discomfort since having atrial flutter back in 2019, and I still get it regularly enough even when I have no obvious arrhythmia going on My doctor is unconcerned. If yours is a new symptom, it does need a doctor's diagnosis, but it sounds to me like its a by-product of the stomach infection your caught on holiday. The stomach can take a very long time to settle indeed - months in my case, at times.
A call to your GP on Monday is what I would do.

Were you treated with an antibiotic for the stomach infection? If so which one?
