Headache and aching jaw

I have paramoxal AF and only have about 4 bouts of it a year. My heart rate and rhythm was all over the place last night and going back to normal rhythm 14 hours later. I have never had other side effects but for the 1st time last night I had a headache and an ache in my jaw. This frightened me so I thought I would ask if anyone else ever had the jaw ache

Yes I have in the past. All part of the mad world of arrhythmia I suspect, scary isn't it. Hope it settles soon. Ask your medic if you feel unnerved and get some answers to assist you. Best to have input from a medic if you feel unsure about it. Best wishes.

Thanks for that - I will ask my GP/nurse to be on safe side.

I always get jaw ache when I have an episode. With me, it’s tension. A hot water bottle on the neck and shoulders helps me. For women jaw pain can indicate a heart attack. I know with my head that I’m not having a heart attack, but thats difficult to believe when it’s happening. Vicious circle!

Best get checked though, we are all different.

Yes. I had the aching jaw a few years ago. The doc at emerg said to go to my dentist. The dentist said there was nothing wrong with me. Then I had a mild stroke, which did not leave me with any disabilities. Finally my cardio said I probably had a very minor stroke causing jaw ache. I am now on an antigualant. Obviously I am not medically trained however it might be wise to ask your cardio about this.

I get an ache in my throat and a headache sometimes. Heart pain can be felt in the neck, jaw and arms so my GP says it should always be checked out if it continues especially if feeling unusually unwell. Good idea to mention to GP.
